Heather Howard brings more than 25 years of senior management experience organizing physician meetings and programs. Ms. Howard’s career in meeting planning and organization began with the Wyndham Hotel organization where she was an Executive Account Manager and continued with the Spine Arthroplasty Society which later was renamed the International Society for the Advancement of Spine Surgery where she was the Director of Operations. Most recently, she was the Senior Program Manager for the Foundation for Orthopedic Research and Education (FORE).

April Bruffy also brings more than 25 years of senior sales management experience in publishing and exhibit booth sales to Orthopedics This Week and OTW Virtual Conventions. Ms. Bruffy started her career with the Miami, Florida, CBS affiliate as the local account executive and then, over her career, rose to Sales Manager for Texas Home and Living Magazine, later Publisher and Sales Manager for several other publications culminating, most recently, with the Houston Business Journal where she was responsible for more than $1 million in annual bookings.

This is a fascinating development. In my practice we've seen similar outcomes with the revised protocol. The key differentiator seems to be patient selection criteria. Has anyone else noticed the correlation with BMI thresholds?
Great point. I'd push back slightly on the conclusion, the sample size in the cited study is too small to draw population-level inferences. That said, the directional signal is compelling and worth a larger RCT.
We implemented a similar approach last year. Early results are promising but we're still gathering 12-month follow-up data. Happy to share our protocol if anyone is interested.
