CORONADO, Calif., Oct. 20, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Spine Innovation, LLC, today announced the successful completion of the first surgery with the LOGIC™ Titanium Implant System. The procedure was performed on October 14, 2026 by leading orthopedic spine surgeon Robert Eastlack, MD at Scripps Green Hospital in La Jolla, California.

"This surgery marks the start of a new direction in transforaminal lumbar fusion," said Dr. Eastlack. "LOGIC Ti transforms a safe, less invasive device, into a large, stable expanded implant with maximum volume available for bony fusion."

LOGIC Titanium Implant

LOGIC Titanium Implant

The patented LOGIC Ti implant helps restore disc height and sagittal balance while resisting subsidence and expulsion with an 18 x 26 mm expanded footprint spanning the vertebral body. LOGIC Ti incorporates OsteoSync™ Ti, a patented, commercially pure titanium lattice material from Sites Medical. OsteoSync Ti has been implanted in more than 350,000 orthopedic and spine patients since 2014. The LOGIC design was previously used successfully in the U.S. manufactured from polyether ether ketone (PEEK).

About Spine Innovation
Spine Innovation, LLC, was founded in 2013 in collaboration with surgeon inventors from Scripps Health to address unmet clinical needs. Spine Innovation is seeking U.S. sales and distribution partners to expand clinical use of the LOGIC implant system.

Why This Matters

Two Perspectives

MBA Lens: Economic and industry impact

Spine Innovation successfully launched its LOGIC™ Titanium Expandable Interbody System, marking a new direction in transforaminal lumbar fusion. This expanded implant offers maximum volume for bony fusion, potentially enhancing market adoption. The company is actively seeking U.S. sales and distribution partners, indicating a strategic push to expand clinical use and capture market share in the competitive spine device sector.

  • The LOGIC Ti system differentiates itself with an 18 x 26 mm expanded footprint, aiming for superior stability and fusion volume.
  • Spine Innovation's strategy involves partnering for U.S. sales and distribution to scale market penetration for the LOGIC implant system.

PhD Lens: Clinical and outcomes impact

The LOGIC™ Titanium Expandable Interbody System, featuring OsteoSync™ Ti, completed its first surgery. This implant is designed to restore disc height and sagittal balance while resisting subsidence and expulsion. Its expanded footprint provides maximum volume for bony fusion, building on the prior PEEK version and leveraging a material with extensive clinical history.

  • The implant incorporates OsteoSync™ Ti, a commercially pure titanium lattice material from Sites Medical, with over 350,000 orthopedic and spine patient implants since 2014.
  • LOGIC Ti offers an 18 x 26 mm expanded footprint to span the vertebral body, enhancing stability and maximizing space for bony fusion.

This is a fascinating development. In my practice we've seen similar outcomes with the revised protocol. The key differentiator seems to be patient selection criteria. Has anyone else noticed the correlation with BMI thresholds?

Great point. I'd push back slightly on the conclusion, the sample size in the cited study is too small to draw population-level inferences. That said, the directional signal is compelling and worth a larger RCT.

We implemented a similar approach last year. Early results are promising but we're still gathering 12-month follow-up data. Happy to share our protocol if anyone is interested.
