ORLANDO, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--ModMed®, a leading provider of software and services to specialty medical practices, today announced ModMed AI Analytics, a new analytics platform that embeds AI across the company's reporting toolset and will replace its existing analytics solution. ModMed introduced the new toolset at its MOMENTUM user conference 2026 in Orlando.
ModMed Launches New ModMed AI Analytics at MOMENTUM 2026

"Specialty practices are sitting on more data than ever, and far too little of it reaches the people who need it in time to act," said Celine Kaiser, Chief Customer Officer at ModMed. "ModMed AI Analytics is the intelligence layer of The AI-Powered PracticeTM, turning practice data into actionable insights through AI-powered reporting, alerting, and analysis built into daily workflows. The goal is simple: put answers in front of administrators and providers while those answers still matter."
Built for how specialty practices work today
Most analytics tools in ambulatory healthcare give practices a fixed set of pre-structured dashboards. If the question isn't already on the dashboard, someone has to build a report — and that someone is usually a data analyst or an already-stretched billing lead. The lag is operational, not just technical. Revenue bottlenecks, denial patterns, and schedule gaps sit unidentified while decisions wait on the reporting queue.
ModMed AI Analytics is designed to shorten that gap. It provides practices with new AI chat capabilities that let end users query their data with natural language, replacing slow, pre-structured dashboards or waiting weeks for the IT department to build a report. With ModMed AI Analytics, users across the specialty practice can get the answers they need in near real-time.
ModMed AI Analytics will replace ModMed’s existing ModMed Analytics solution as part of ModMed’s continued investment in innovation and improving the products on which customers rely every day. “ModMed is consistently delivering cutting-edge, cloud-based solutions that give us near real-time analytics and financial reporting — things we never had with our old systems,” said Joseph B. Bolen IV, Practice Manager, OrthoAlabama Spine & Sports, who has used the existing ModMed Analytics platform.
ModMed AI Analytics includes new self-service tools
The new ModMed AI Analytics adds self-service capabilities that specialty practices have long requested:
AI chat: In response to natural-language queries, the system provides text-based answers and visualizations — tables, graphs, or charts — that users can save to reports or dashboards, so a practice administrator can get to an answer without filing a support request
Dynamic alerting: After defining thresholds for specific measures, users can configure email alerts delivered when metrics fall below or exceed those levels, helping teams catch a trend before it becomes a month-end surprise
Anomaly detection: Users can interact with individual KPIs to help identify patterns that deviate from expected results, with focused analysis and reasoning behind any changes
Near real-time reporting: Data refreshes throughout the day and is accessible based on user roles, permissions, and the other ModMed solutions a practice uses
Create custom dashboards: Users can build and create their own custom content without submitting a support request, which takes repetitive report-building off the data team's plate
Scheduled delivery: Users can schedule reports in PDF or Excel format to specified recipients and manage all scheduled reports from one centralized view
Favorites, groups, bookmarks, and sharing: Users can flag frequently accessed reports, organize them into folders, and share reports with other users in their practice
Users are empowered to review and act on anything the platform surfaces. The software identifies and flags; the practice decides.
Built into the ModMed platform, tuned to the specialty
ModMed AI Analytics integrates exclusively within core ModMed products — EMA®, gGastro® EHR, Practice Management, Patient Engagement, and the RCM AI Platform — to help practices gain visibility across The AI-Powered Practice. It also leverages specialty-specific knowledge to tailor KPI tracking and anomaly detection to the unique needs of each specialty, so a gastroenterology group and a dermatology group aren't working from the same generic template.
“We built ModMed AI Analytics from the ground up to make healthcare reporting faster and easier to use," said Venk Jayaraman (VJ), Chief Technology Officer at ModMed. "By integrating advanced conversational AI and machine learning models directly into our cloud architecture, we’re allowing practice teams to query millions of data points instantly using natural language, delivering speed, accuracy, and enterprise-grade analysis at scale.”
Availability
ModMed AI Analytics is expected to be generally available in early 2027. There is no additional cost for the new solution. Conversational AI features — AI Chat, Alerting, and Anomaly Detection — require a Premium Analytics subscription. All current reports from ModMed Analytics will migrate to the new AI Analytics platform, and existing user permissions will also carry over.

Discussion
This is a fascinating development. In my practice we've seen similar outcomes with the revised protocol. The key differentiator seems to be patient selection criteria. Has anyone else noticed the correlation with BMI thresholds?
Great point. I'd push back slightly on the conclusion, the sample size in the cited study is too small to draw population-level inferences. That said, the directional signal is compelling and worth a larger RCT.
We implemented a similar approach last year. Early results are promising but we're still gathering 12-month follow-up data. Happy to share our protocol if anyone is interested.
