Ruthless Spine technology will integrate with both NuEyes wearable platforms, bringing real-time intraoperative angular measurements directly into the Pro 4 today and into NuLoupes’ stereoscopic surgical visualization platform when it launches later this year.
Whether the application calls for pass-through visualization with Pro 4 or advanced digital magnification and stereoscopic visualization with NuLoupes, critical information stays directly in the surgeon’s field of view.
The upcoming NuVision App Store provides the bandwidth to expand beyond a single application, bringing Ruthless and future specialty integrations across both platforms.
“Navigation has transformed spine surgery. The next evolution is making critical information intuitive and seamless. By placing that information directly in the surgeon’s field of view, wearable technology has the potential to redefine surgical efficiency and confidence.”

Why This Matters
Two Perspectives
MBA Lens: Economic and industry impact
NuEyes' strategy integrates Ruthless Spine technology into its wearable platforms, Pro 4 and upcoming NuLoupes, to deliver real-time intraoperative angular measurements directly to the surgeon's field of view. This approach aims to enhance surgical efficiency and confidence by making critical information intuitive and seamless. The NuVision App Store is central to building a broader ecosystem, facilitating future specialty integrations and potentially driving wider adoption of wearable enabling technology in spine surgery.
- NuEyes is establishing an "ecosystem" via its NuVision App Store to integrate various specialty applications, starting with Ruthless Spine.
- This integration strategy seeks to improve surgical efficiency and surgeon confidence by providing critical data directly in the field of view.
PhD Lens: Clinical and outcomes impact
The Ruthless Spine technology integrates with NuEyes' wearable platforms, Pro 4 and NuLoupes, to provide real-time intraoperative angular measurements directly within the surgeon's field of view. Pro 4 offers pass-through visualization, while NuLoupes provides advanced digital magnification and stereoscopic visualization. This mechanism aims to enhance surgical precision and efficiency by seamlessly presenting critical data during procedures, potentially improving surgical confidence.
- The system delivers real-time intraoperative angular measurements via wearable devices, utilizing pass-through or stereoscopic digital visualization.
- The primary mechanism is to integrate critical surgical data directly into the surgeon's visual field to improve procedural efficiency.

Discussion
This is a fascinating development. In my practice we've seen similar outcomes with the revised protocol. The key differentiator seems to be patient selection criteria. Has anyone else noticed the correlation with BMI thresholds?
Great point. I'd push back slightly on the conclusion, the sample size in the cited study is too small to draw population-level inferences. That said, the directional signal is compelling and worth a larger RCT.
We implemented a similar approach last year. Early results are promising but we're still gathering 12-month follow-up data. Happy to share our protocol if anyone is interested.
