Considering the full machinery of modern multimodal analgesia: adductor canal blocks, iPACK blocks, periarticular injections, acetaminophen, gabapentinoids, rescue opioids, carefully choreographed rehabilitation and then, post-op oral nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), particularly cyclooxygenase-2 inhibitors such as celecoxib — considering all that — could a transdermal NSAID patch fill an as yet unmet pain control need after total knee arthroplasty (TKA)?
