MALVERN, Pa. — June 23, 2026 — Crossover Medical, a Runway Healthcare portfolio company, today announced the appointment of I.V. Hall and Mark McMahan as independent members of its Board of Directors. The additions bring decades of combined commercial, operational, and clinical experience in orthopedic trauma and extremities to the company as it builds toward its first product introduction.

"I cannot think of two better board members than I.V. and Mark when it comes to building an orthopedic trauma system," said Jeffrey O'Donnell, Jr., Chief Executive Officer of Crossover Medical. "Both have operated at the highest levels of this industry, and both know what it takes to bring a differentiated fixation platform to surgeons and to market. We are fortunate to have them on our team."

I.V. Hall is a recognized leader in orthopedic trauma and extremities. He spent 27 years at DePuy Synthes, where he rose to Global President of the Trauma, Extremities, Craniomaxillofacial, and Animal Health businesses. He most recently served as CEO and Managing Director of Next Science, LLC, where he led the commercialization of surgical solutions targeting infection prevention and completed an asset sale to Demetra Holdings. He was recently named Chief Operating Officer of Kuros Biosciences (SIX:KURN) and also serves on the board of Pace Surgical.

“The Crossover team is committed to creating improved solutions for surgeons to solve the challenges in lower extremity trauma.   I am thrilled to work with them, contribute my experiences and be part of this exciting journey.”   said I.V. Hall.

Mark McMahan brings a career that spans military service and senior commercial leadership in medical devices. A graduate of the United States Naval Academy, he served as an Officer aboard the USS Baton Rouge (SSN 689) fast attack nuclear submarine before entering the medical device industry. He went on to hold roles at Synthes and Covidien, and most recently at Smith+Nephew, where he served as Vice President of Marketing for Trauma and Extremities. He currently serves as Chief Commercial Officer of PBC Biomed, an orthobiologics company based in Ireland.

“I was drawn to Crossover by its clear strategic mission and the team’s rigorous execution discipline.  I look forward to helping bring a differentiated trauma platform to the surgeons and patients who need it," said Mark McMahan.

The appointments reflect Crossover Medical's continued investment in the leadership and governance needed to advance its mission of reimagining lower-extremity trauma fixation.

This is a fascinating development. In my practice we've seen similar outcomes with the revised protocol. The key differentiator seems to be patient selection criteria. Has anyone else noticed the correlation with BMI thresholds?

Great point. I'd push back slightly on the conclusion, the sample size in the cited study is too small to draw population-level inferences. That said, the directional signal is compelling and worth a larger RCT.

We implemented a similar approach last year. Early results are promising but we're still gathering 12-month follow-up data. Happy to share our protocol if anyone is interested.
