In a notable departure from traditional outcome assessments in periprosthetic joint infection (PJI) management, researchers from Canada and the United States have explored how patients themselves define successful recovery following total joint arthroplasty. The study, titled “Successful Management of Periprosthetic Joint Infection Following Total Joint Arthroplasty, as Defined by the Patient: A Qualitative Study,” was published in the April 25, 2025, edition of The Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery.
