Predicting Death Risk After Hip Fracture

A new multicenter study is opening the door to predicting mortality risk after hip fracture. In what is the first documented application of a tissue-specific DNA methylation age within an orthopedic trauma cohort, the study team published their work, “Blood and Bone-Derived DNA Methylation Ages Predict Mortality After Geriatric Hip Fracture. A Pilot Study,” in the February 19, 2025, edition of The Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery.
