Vamsy Bobba, M.D. Joins University Orthopedics’ Spine Center

Spine surgeon Vamsy Bobba, M.D. has joined University Orthopedics, a practice with locations in Rhode Island and Massachusetts. Dr. Bobba, who joins the practice’s Center for Spine Health, focuses on spinal stenosis, degenerative disc disease, herniated discs, instability, deformity, trauma, compression fractures, tumor, and infection.

After earning his undergraduate degree at Columbia University, Dr. Bobba obtained a master’s degree from Johns Hopkins University in Bioscience Regulatory Affairs. He then attended medical school at Drexel University in Philadelphia and went on to complete an orthopedic surgery residency at the Detroit Medical Center. Dr. Bobba then did a spine fellowship at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.

“As I transition into my new role, I would like to work with the community at large to help educate patients about neck and back issues and when is the appropriate time to seek care. I am working with hospitals to help provide the latest advances in spine surgery, with smaller incisions and quicker recoveries. My hope is that this will allow patients to achieve their goals and get back to what they love in a quicker manner.”
