Osteotec Ltd Names Anthony McClellan Head of Sales
McClellan comes to Osteotec from Stryker Corporation, where he most recently worked as the upper extremities regional sales manager. Prior to Stryker, McClellan had senior sales positions at both Wright Medical and Tornier. At Wright Medical, McClellan also focused on upper extremities.
McClellan will utilize his sales and management experience in his new role where he will oversee the upper and lower extremities sales teams. Additionally, McClellan will, per the press release, “be responsible for developing the company’s UK and export sales and diversification strategy, implementing and managing sales activity, identifying new market opportunities and generating growth.”
OTW spoke with McClellan about what he is most looking forward to in his new role: “I’m excited to have the opportunity to help build and shape the future of Osteotec’s UK business as well as onboarding new and growing export partners around the world.”
McClellan continued, “I am also looking forward to working with the sales team on what is already a unique product offering, and to expanding the support we already provide our customers with innovative extremities products backed by gold standard service.”
Osteotec has been supplying extremity orthopedic products to both the National Health Service and private healthcare companies for almost 30 years. Its product portfolio, which is available in both the UK and globally, includes ChiroKlip®, Osteotec Silicone Finger, and the Osteotec Concentric Bone Graft System.
Since its founding, Osteotec’s reach has grown significantly. According to the company, Osteotec’s “team collaborated with over 500 different hospitals throughout the UK and Ireland.” Additionally, the company is the exclusive UK distributor for global orthopedic companies including Paragon 28, TriMed, ConMed and Arthrex.
In the press release, Osteotec Managing Director Matt Woods commented, in part, “I am confident Anthony [McClellan] will excel in his role, to better serve our existing customers and meet our market goals. He brings with him a significant amount of sales experience and leadership qualities that will positively impact and support our growth strategy throughout the group.”

Discussion
This is a fascinating development. In my practice we've seen similar outcomes with the revised protocol. The key differentiator seems to be patient selection criteria. Has anyone else noticed the correlation with BMI thresholds?
Great point. I'd push back slightly on the conclusion, the sample size in the cited study is too small to draw population-level inferences. That said, the directional signal is compelling and worth a larger RCT.
We implemented a similar approach last year. Early results are promising but we're still gathering 12-month follow-up data. Happy to share our protocol if anyone is interested.
