Columbus, Ohio-based IncludeHealth, Inc. has announced that Chris Slee is joining its executive team as its first chief technology officer.

IncludeHealth is a digital health and performance company focused on musculoskeletal care and training. Its platform “pairs HIPAA-compliant cloud software with connected sensors and movement correction technology to quantify and qualify human performance.”

While Slee is new to the IncludeHealth executive team, he is very familiar with the company. For the past five years Slee has supported the company as both an advisor and consultant, sharing his knowledge of software and product development.

In the press release, IncludeHealth Founder and CEO Ryan Eder commented, “We have been waiting for the right to time to officially bring Chris [Slee] aboard, and now the timing couldn’t be more perfect.”

Eder continued, “He [Slee] is an asset to our company, and we believe our technology will truly evolve under his purview as we enter the next chapter of IncludeHealth’s evolution and growth.”

Slee has more than 25 years of experience. Most recently, he was a principal and chief product officer with Dublin, Ohio-based Allen, William & Hughes, Co. During his time at Allen, William & Hughes he managed the creation and implementation of product strategy and the evolution of commercial products from their early stages to market.

Slee discussed his decision to join IncludeHealth with OTW, stating, “I chose to join IncludeHealth for a number of reasons, primarily because I believe in the mission of the organization, to create a high-access, low-cost musculoskeletal operating system enabling onsite and remote delivery of personalized, measured care that helps people recover and improve their lives. Secondarily, because the leadership team laid out a clear vision on exactly how to accomplish that.”

Looking forward, Slee is excited about using artificial intelligence (AI) to further advance IncludeHealth’s technology. Slee told OTW, “The projects that I am most excited to be working on next is the expansion of our Machine Learning team and moving from algorithmic to AI based solutions at the core of our platform.”

This is a fascinating development. In my practice we've seen similar outcomes with the revised protocol. The key differentiator seems to be patient selection criteria. Has anyone else noticed the correlation with BMI thresholds?

Great point. I'd push back slightly on the conclusion, the sample size in the cited study is too small to draw population-level inferences. That said, the directional signal is compelling and worth a larger RCT.

We implemented a similar approach last year. Early results are promising but we're still gathering 12-month follow-up data. Happy to share our protocol if anyone is interested.
