Anang Chokshi, P.T., D.P.T., O.C.S., S.C.S. has joined Columbus, Ohio-based IncludeHealth, Inc. as its Chief Clinical Officer.

Founded in 2009, IncludeHealth is a digital health and performance company focused on musculoskeletal care and training. Its platform “pairs HIPAA-compliant cloud software with connected sensors and movement correction technology to quantify and qualify human performance.” Its technology is utilized across multiple industries including orthopedics, neuroscience, pediatric care, senior care, government, and general wellness.

Chokshi told OTW, “I am excited to join IncludeHealth to bring my expertise as a digital healthcare clinician and help continue in IncludeHealth’s expansion. Over the summer, Ryan Eder introduced me to the company’s ideation and vision. I was and continue to be impressed with his dedication to designing and building innovative technology experiences to further improve access to care. We instantly clicked on a variety of similarities and passions related to the digital musculoskeletal care space. I quickly knew I wanted to work with the Include team as the company rapidly innovates and evolves.”

Chokshi emphasized the importance of utilizing technology to better serve patients. “IncludeHealth’s mission aligns with my passion for improving access to care by connecting patients to licensed clinicians via technology. Building clinically focused technology platforms that are patient-centric bolsters the providers’ capacity to rehabilitate the American healthcare landscape in the clinic, community and the home.”

Prior to joining IncludeHealth, Chokshi was chief clinical officer at Reflexion Health, a company providing 3D motion-capture technology to help patients recover from surgery or injury. He has a clinical background and has used his career to focus on telehealth and remote physical therapy technology. Chokshi is a double-board certified orthopedic and sports therapist and holds a doctorate in physical therapy from the University of Michigan-Flint.

As part of IncludeHealth’s executive team, Chokshi will lend his technical and clinical expertise to IncludeHealth’s expanding portfolio. Notably, Chokshi “will oversee the clinical strategy of product development and clinical implementation at the customer site as IncludeHealth continues to expand its technology into movement correction products.”

IncludeHealth leadership is looking forward to Chokshi’s contributions as the company expands its platform. In the press release, IncludeHealth Founder and CEO Ryan Eder commented, “Anang’s [Chokshi] breadth of clinical, technological and personal experience is a true asset to IncludeHealth, especially as we expand our platform into movement correction.”

This is a fascinating development. In my practice we've seen similar outcomes with the revised protocol. The key differentiator seems to be patient selection criteria. Has anyone else noticed the correlation with BMI thresholds?

Great point. I'd push back slightly on the conclusion, the sample size in the cited study is too small to draw population-level inferences. That said, the directional signal is compelling and worth a larger RCT.

We implemented a similar approach last year. Early results are promising but we're still gathering 12-month follow-up data. Happy to share our protocol if anyone is interested.
