From London comes news that the UK Subsidiary of Collagen Solutions plc has agreed to acquire its soluble collagen from the Turkish company Desu Medical.
Turkish Company to Supply Spine Collagen

The agreement calls for the manufacturing of brain dura and spinal fusion implants. These will be used in the treatment of spinal injuries by stimulating what the company refers to as “enhanced dura/bone generation” by means of high-concentration collagen.
Sam Unsted, writing for Alliance News, quoted Collagen Chief Executive Officer Stewart White as saying, “This agreement is the culmination of a long association with Desu Medical during which we have been supplying developmental quantities of medical grade collagen, ”
“Winning this contract is based on our ability to convince such an established company that we can supply a medical grade collagen suitable for manufacturing their products consistently and to order, for the life of the product line, ” White added.

Discussion
This is a fascinating development. In my practice we've seen similar outcomes with the revised protocol. The key differentiator seems to be patient selection criteria. Has anyone else noticed the correlation with BMI thresholds?
Great point. I'd push back slightly on the conclusion, the sample size in the cited study is too small to draw population-level inferences. That said, the directional signal is compelling and worth a larger RCT.
We implemented a similar approach last year. Early results are promising but we're still gathering 12-month follow-up data. Happy to share our protocol if anyone is interested.
