Millstone Medical Outsourcing is pleased to announce the promotion of three team members. These individuals have excelled in serving Millstone customers and have led the consistent growth of the organization for the past several years.
Millstone Medical Promotes Star Players

Millstone’s Brad Schwarz, who has 23 years of experience in medical device roles, has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer of all Millstone locations. Tom Williams and Karl Neuberger will both take on the role of President serving each of Millstone’s geographic regions. Tom will lead Millstone’s Massachusetts facilities and Karl, Millstone’s Olive Branch, MS facility. Tom and Karl will be responsible for delivery of services, management of personnel, and will lead all customer communication.

Asked about the past role that best prepared him for this new position, Tom Williams told OTW, “Managing the early growth of our Memphis facility; also, leading a successful expansion from the beginning stages was a great learning experience. Being intimately involved with all aspects of management and operational functions allowed me to develop the skills required to grow our services, organization, and positive impact on our customer base.

This is a fascinating development. In my practice we've seen similar outcomes with the revised protocol. The key differentiator seems to be patient selection criteria. Has anyone else noticed the correlation with BMI thresholds?
Great point. I'd push back slightly on the conclusion, the sample size in the cited study is too small to draw population-level inferences. That said, the directional signal is compelling and worth a larger RCT.
We implemented a similar approach last year. Early results are promising but we're still gathering 12-month follow-up data. Happy to share our protocol if anyone is interested.
